How it works

  1. Apply on this page

    Tell us about the boat, where it lives, and whether you drive it. A person reads every application.

  2. Review

    Registration or documentation, an insurance certificate, and your captain's license and background check go on file before the first trip.

  3. From launch, trips come to you

    Accept dispatched trips in the app. Fares are captured when a trip completes and settle to your bank through Finix.

If you drive it

Hold a USCG license and the whole 84 percent side is yours. You run the boat as you do today. Nava brings the riders, handles payment, and shows each trip's math.

If you run a fleet

Add the captains you approve and set each one's share per ride. The split is fixed the moment a captain accepts a trip, and owner and captain are each paid their part.

What a ride pays

Four tiers, one fare table.

Fares are a base, a rate per nautical mile, and a rate per minute, with a minimum per tier. The boat’s side is 84 percent of the fare; Nava keeps 16. The last column is the reference ride, Miami Beach to Brickell, twelve minutes and about four miles.

Marina pickup and drop-off fees are added to the rider’s total and go to the marina, not out of the fare. On busy nights fares can rise, up to 1.8 times for NavaGo and 2.5 times for NavaPrime. The tier a boat lands in follows its length and capacity and is confirmed by a person during review.

When do I get paid?

Fares are captured when a trip completes. Finix, the payments platform Nava uses, settles the boat's side to your bank on its daily schedule, and the app shows every trip and its split.

Do I need my own captain?

No. If you hold a USCG license you can drive. If not, add a captain you trust and agree on a share per ride. Captains pass a license check and a background check before they can go online.

What does Nava take?

Sixteen percent of the fare. Marina fees are charged to the rider on top and go to the marina. There is no listing fee.

I already charter. Does this interfere?

Nava dispatches a trip only when your captain is online in the app, so charters keep their days and Nava fills the rest.

Who covers fuel and upkeep?

The boat does, as with any charter. The fare table was set with those costs in mind: each tier's rates carry an allowance for fuel and wear.

Which tier is my boat?

Length and capacity decide it, and a person confirms during review. A 25 ft center console is NavaGo. A 45 ft express cruiser is NavaLuxe. Fifty feet and up with a cabin is NavaPrime.

Nava has not launched yet. Why apply now?

Boats are reviewed ahead of launch so they can take trips on day one. Applying costs nothing.
